Ichthyodectidae Fish from Morocco on Stand #2

This fish belongs to the family Ichthyodectidae and is from Goulmima, Morocco.  The fish is from Upper Cretaceous deposits, around 90 million years ago.  Ichthyodectes was a predator, eating smaller fish.  These fish are found in calcareous concretions and quality often varies based on preparation.  This one has a lot of repair, mostly gluing back together, but the only restoration is where cracks have been filled. There is restoration to the matrix to smooth it out and make it look even.  The scales, fins, eye socket, vertebra, and teeth are all natural.  Many of the teeth are missing, but you can see where the teeth were present.  The fish measures 36" long and was a large one.   I have made a quilted maple stand and it is included.  The base measures 18" x 7" and is 2 3/4" thick.  Overall height of fish on stand is about 15".  See detailed pictures for details.  Email with any questions.
